As an art director, designer, illustrator, visual artist, and art educator, Daniela Molnar communicates information and makes images concerning the intersection of art and science / culture and nature.
She is a full time Assistant Professor at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, where she teaches illustration, drawing, critical theory, and design.
Some of her recent or current clients include: The Bear Deluxe Magazine, Scientific American magazine, Bitch magazine, The New York Times Magazine, McGraw Hill Publishing Company, and Floreant Press. She has a particular interest in how food relates to social and environmental issues and works with organizations such as Orlo, Outstanding in the Field and Slow Food USA.
She helped found Signal Fire, an arts advocacy organization based in Portland, Oregon that provides opportunities for artists to engage in the natural world in ways that inspire and inform their practice.
She received her BA in Studio Art and Environmental Studies from The Evergreen State College, studied post-baccalaureate at The School of Visual Art and Pratt Institute, and received her Masters Certificate in Science Illustration from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
